From the Pastor - Rev. Douglas Early

As we draw ever nearer to the celebration of Easter, I have once again been thankful for the wisdom of our ancestors in marking out the season of Lent. I am thankful for this time to drop all pretense and face the full truth of who I am as a human being and the reality we face in this life. I recently came across a quote that captures the essence of this season for me and offer it to all of you for your own contemplation:

"To look at the Crucifix and then look at our own hearts; to test by the cross the quality of our love - if we do that honestly and unflinchingly we don't need any other self-examination. The lash, the crown of thorns, the mockery, the stripping, the nails - life has equivalents of all these for us and God asks a love for himself and his children which can accept and survive all that in the particular way in which it is offered to us. It is no use to talk in a large vague way about the love of God; here is its point of insertion in the world."

"QAPC is devoted to loving others as Christ loves us - in our neighborhood and beyond, with emphasis for those in specific and acute need."

Join us after church on Sunday, March 2 in the fireside room for our first meeting to brainstorm about how QAPC reaches out to the community.
